Resources are not infinite. But habits can be conscious. Water flows. The light is on. Food spoils. And all this – every day, just in our homes. We do not notice how we spend more than necessary. And the planet notices it.
Here are some simple but very effective habits that not only reduce your bills, but also make the world a little better:
1. Water: does not flow – which means it is saved.
– Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth – is minus 10-15 liters at a time.
– Installing an aerator on the mixer – minus 50% of water consumption.
– Collecting rainwater – plus a bonus for flowers and beds.
2. Electricity: light only when necessary.
– When leaving the room – turn it off.
– During the day – maximum natural light.
— No flashing chargers in sockets at night.
— A+ class household appliances are an investment in the future.
3. Food: don’t throw away what you can still eat.
— Plan your shopping, don’t take “just in case.”
— Check the refrigerator before going to the supermarket.
— Leftovers — in the freezer, or in a new dish.
— If something does go bad, it’s not the end. It’s the beginning of composting.
These habits are not difficult. They don’t take time. But if you make them a part of your daily life, over time you will notice: there is less waste at home, more awareness. And, perhaps, big changes will start from your home.
