Glossary of the Eco Foundation: Environmental values. Environmental actions

A new environmental foundation, the Glossary Eco Foundation (GEF), has been launched in Ukraine. Its main goal is to serve as a platform uniting international and Ukrainian ecologists, and the eco-community. Thus it will accomplish an important mission to restore Ukraine’s green potential and form the nation’s environmental consciousness.

Ukraine has chosen the European development path, which implies changes not only in the political, economic, social, and cultural areas but also in the environmental field.

“It goes beyond a mere geopolitical stance, it is a significant reevaluation. It is a commitment to shift old paradigms, putting the environment on a par with economic development. This is precisely why the goal of the Glossary Eco Foundation is to raise environmental awareness among Ukrainians,” explains Anastasia Tsybuliak, the founder of the Foundation.

According to Anastasia Tsybuliak, the Foundation’s team will pay special attention to projects tailored for children and youth since they are the basis and driving force of future changes.

The peculiarity of the Foundation’s activities is that it pays considerable attention to cooperation with ecologists. This strategy emphasizes the crucial role of professional ecologists in raising environmental awareness and stimulating environmental action. The Foundation believes that environmental values inevitably lead to environmental actions.

“The path to environmental balance in Ukraine lies in the hands of the state, ecologists, and each individual. Therefore, the Foundation will provide communication support for the environmental initiatives of ecologists and engage in educational activities, focusing its efforts on educational projects for the youth,” the GEF founder said.

The Foundation is currently working on relevant initiatives and projects aimed at promoting environmental education. Among the first projects are publishing a series of children’s books and an All-Ukrainian online lesson on Ecology for high school students.

The Glossary Eco Foundation invites ecologists who share our vision and values to cooperate. The Foundation is ready to support the initiatives of ecologists both financially and informationally. “Together, we can forge an eco-conscious society,” concludes Anastasia Tsybulyak.

Originally founded as the Glossary Foundation in 2021, the organization had the main focus on promoting sustainable change and rebalancing human-nature relations. Due to the full-scale invasion, the Foundation temporarily suspended its main activities, and employees were engaged in volunteering.

In 2023, the Foundation’s activities were reconsidered due to the ecocide caused by Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. The main focus is on raising environmental awareness among Ukrainians, which will enable the restoration of the country’s ecological potential.

Anastasia Tsybuliak, the founder, is a Ukrainian economist, entrepreneur, and public activist. As the founder of the Glossary Organic Products, the largest importer of certified organic products in Ukraine, she holds a Doctorate in Economics and a PhD in Political Science. Since 2014, she worked as an Associate Professor, and since 2021, she has been a Professor at the Department of International Economics, Business and Management at Concordia University.
