Vukhan-Klapan and the Red Tag
Stories that Grow Planet Keepers
Industrial activity, deforestation, river pollution, and climate change are transforming our planet and the quality of our lives. In Ukraine, the situation is further worsened by war, which deprives nature of the space and time it needs to recover. Animals and plants are disappearing, and environmental challenges are growing ever more urgent. Yet it is not enough to simply observe these problems — we must also teach the next generation how to care for the world around them.
That is why we are creating a series of children’s stories that, through engaging narratives, help young readers understand why protecting the environment matters. Our goal is not only to capture children’s imagination but also to nurture an early awareness of responsible consumption, empathy for nature, and the impact of human choices on ecosystems.
The first near-detective story, Vukhan-Klapan and the Red Tag, follows a brave hare and his best forest friend Stepanko who suddenly finds himself under extinction after receiving a mysterious red tag. Early readers are introduced to rare Ukrainian animals and uncover what happens when nature is pushed too far.
Coming in early 2026, part of the edition will be gifted to Ukrainian schools, public libraries, and family-type children’s homes bringing environmental education across Ukraine where it’s needed most.
Our mission is to reshape the landscape of Ukrainian children’s literature by creating high-quality, educational, and inspiring books on ecology.
We believe stories can plant seeds of change. Each book is a step toward a future where every child grows up not only reading about nature but protecting it.
A fairy tale that needs your support
Your contribution will help complete the publication of the first children’s eco-tale that teaches love for nature. Together, we can donate it to schools and libraries across Ukraine so that every child has a chance to learn the importance of caring for the environment.
